There is an urban tale out there about a guy who could go into any Gambling den in any city, walk directly up to a slot machine game, whisper something into its slot, pull on its arm and out would pour a jackpot.
He was known as the Slot machine Whisperer.
Well, I have certainly not met anyone similar to that. But in almost every single Casino I have been I’ve heard folks talk of this story.
I’ve witnessed men and women talk to slot machines. I have noticed people yell at slots. I have seen folks smack slot machines. Except I have never ever observed them win the jackpot following doing such a thing.
The very first time I heard about the Slot machine Whisperer I was in a Reno Gambling den. I was betting twenty-one when I heard a thrill go by way of the Gambling den. The player next to me, his name was Mike, advised me that the buzz was because somebody had spotted the Slot machine Whisperer enter the Betting house. He then proceeded to tell me the legend of the Whisperer and how he had mastered slots machine games.
Shortly following that there had been security guards jogging all over the place. And they have been all bee lined to the slot machine area.
He told me this was extremely unusual as the Slot machine game Whisperer was a really soft man. And that he only took the jackpot from one slot machine. He in no way tried to take a Casino for every single slot machine game jackpot. He also informed me that the Whisperer also gave 50 percent of his slot machine game jackpots to an orphanage. He was not a greedy man.
A handful of minutes later we saw security escorting a man out of the slot pit. The word was that he wasn’t the Slot machine Whisperer but some burglar who was attempting to use an electrical gadget to defraud the slots.
I have never run into the Slot machine Whisperer. I do not know if he even exists. I think of him as an urban story or a myth several slot machine game player dreamed up.
But the thought of an individual who can master slot machine games just by speaking softly to them is sort of romantic. Like a modern day Gambling house Robin Hood.
