Prior to this invention, the term "slot machines" was used to characterize several kinds of vending machines.

    The initial across the board use of slot games in American casinos is credited to the Flamingo Hotel, Vegas somewhere around 1940. The administrator of the betting house had originally thought the machines would be great to entertain apathetic wives of some of the biggest high roller customers of the casino. Little did he know that slot games would be a fun game for nearly everyone and that the enticement would extend beyond the the apathetic wives. Now, it is said, slots comprise over 2/3rds of all revenue brought in by American betting houses.

    Slot machine games absolutely have a full history. From the petite invention of the late-1800’s to the million dollar sector of today, slot machines will continue to grow in popularity.
